In Madonna-unrelated news, but Superbowl-related news: Melanie Amaro releases flawless cover of "Respect"

It seems odd to be posting news relating to the Superbowl without it being centered around Madonna, but here goes.

The winner of the first season of US "X Factor" Melanie Amaro released a flawless cover of Aretha Franklin's hit song "Respect."

I can't even describe how good it is, but I hope this illustration helps: tonight my iPod will be playing both Madonna's "Give Me All Your Luvin'" and Melanie Amaro's "Respect."

Yeah, I said it. This song is worthy of joint-playlist status with Madonna's new single.

Sue me.

Melanie's "Respect" will be played/sung during her "iconic" Pepsi commercial to be played at the Superbowl this weekend.

The vocals on this track are off the hook. The motown record just got did! Now it's an amazing dance-track in the style of Amaro's "Someone Like You" remix she sang on "X Factor."

This first single is a step in the perfect direction.

What do you think of Melanie Amaro's new single? How does it add up to Madonna's?
